News Trading at Moneta Funded

Is News Trading Allowed at Moneta Funded?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Trading during major news events involves heightened risk due to sudden volatility, unpredictable price spikes, slippage, and widened spreads. These conditions can make it difficult to manage entries and exits effectively and may result in performance outcomes that do not accurately reflect a trader’s skill or strategy.

Because of this, Moneta Funded does not allow traders to engage in news trading across all challenges. The opening or closing of any trade, whether executed manually or triggered by Take Profit or Stop Loss, is prohibited during the 5-minute period before and the 5-minute period after any scheduled high-impact economic news event.

Trades that were opened at least two hours prior to the scheduled high-impact news event are allowed to close during the restricted period, including closure triggered by Take Profit or Stop Loss.

Net profits generated from trading activity that violates this policy may be subject to deduction. Repeated attempts to trade high-impact news events across multiple days may result in account restriction or violation.

Traders are encouraged to review upcoming high-impact economic events and plan their trading activity accordingly. The Economic Calendar available in the dashboard should be used to stay informed of scheduled news releases.
