News Trading at Moneta Funded

Is News Trading Allowed at Moneta Funded?

Updated over a month ago

Trading during major news events involves heightened risk due to sudden volatility, unpredictable price spikes, slippage, and widened spreads. These conditions can make it difficult to manage entries and exits effectively and may result in performance outcomes that do not accurately reflect a trader’s skill or strategy.

Because of this, Moneta Funded does not allow traders to engage in news trading on 1-Step and 2-Step challenge accounts(evaluation & funded).

Traders are encouraged to review upcoming high-impact economic events and plan their trading activity accordingly. The Economic Calendar available in the dashboard should be used to stay informed of scheduled news releases.

You may hold positions through news releases in accordance with your trading plan; however, no orders(including stop-loss/take profit) may be executed within 5 minutes before or 5 minutes after high-impact news events.

Please note that failure to follow our policy will result in any profits accrued during news trading to be deducted from your account balance and can result in a user failing the internal review process of the evaluation phase(s). Repeat violations of the News Trading rule may result in a permanent ban from Moneta Funded's platform and services.

News trading is allowed on our Instant funding and Phoenix Challenge accounts.
