❌ Using another person’s identity or account
❌ Using an Expert Advisor (EA)
IMPORTANT
The scenarios below are simplified examples intended to explain the listed prohibited activities. They are not exhaustive and do not create new rules or automatic detection thresholds.
Examples of Prohibited Activity
Multiple Competition Entries by the Same Person
Sample account scenario
A trader registers for the same competition using two different email addresses and receives two separate competition accounts. The trader then places trades on both accounts to increase the chance of finishing higher on the leaderboard.
Why this is not allowed: One person is participating more than once in the same competition.
Multiple Entries Connected to the Same IP Address
Sample account scenario
A trader creates or controls more than one competition entry and accesses both accounts from the same internet connection or device. Trading activity from the entries is linked through the shared connection.
Why this may result in disqualification: The linked entries may indicate that one trader is operating multiple competition accounts.
Copy Trading Between Different Participants or Accounts
Sample trade scenario
Participant A opens a 1.00-lot XAUUSD BUY. A few seconds later, Participant B opens the same symbol in the same direction, using the same lot size, entry area, Stop Loss and Take Profit. The same matching pattern continues across several trades.
Why this is not allowed: One participant or account is mirroring trading decisions from another competition participant or account.
Reverse Trading Using Multiple Accounts
Sample trade scenario
A trader controls two competition accounts. Before a major market move, the trader opens a BUY position on one account and an equal SELL position on the other account. The intention is for one account to benefit regardless of which direction the market moves.
Why this is not allowed: Opposite positions are being used across multiple accounts to create an unfair competition advantage.
Using Another Person's Identity or Account
Sample account scenario
Person A completes registration and identity verification but gives the competition account credentials to Person B. Person B then logs in and trades the account on Person A's behalf.
Why this is not allowed: The person trading the account is not the verified participant who entered the competition.
Using an Expert Advisor (EA)
Sample trade scenario
A participant installs an Expert Advisor on the competition account. The EA automatically opens, modifies or closes trades based on its programmed strategy without the participant manually placing each trade.
Why this is not allowed: Expert Advisor usage is listed as prohibited activity for Moneta Funded competitions.
